Feeling needy or dependent?

“Get up and eat some more, or the journey ahead will be too much for you.” 1 Kings 19:7

Elijah had just done more for Israel than anyone in generations, but at the end of the day he hit his limits and he wanted to lay down and die. I have seen myself and other men experience great freedom in encountering God and then been disappointed that they fail, feel weak, and think all that has been done was for nothing. We’re disappointed that we’re still weak “After all that God has done!”

But we deny we are a finite person connecting with an infinite God. What he has for us to do, and who he made us to be, the High Calling on us, will leave us constantly dependent on Him. If we feel needy it’s because we need. We decided to walk with infinite God who wants to be everything to us. He wants to show who he can be to one who needs him for everything.

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. ”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong."" 2 Corinthians 12:9,10

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:3

Today, invite God into your ‘weakness’, pray, “God, what gift do you want to give me, who do you want to be to me in this?”
