Thin Spaces and Holy Places
A Journey into the Life of St. Francis
Join us for a unique pilgrimage focusing on learning prayer and spiritual disciplines from the life of St. Francis. Explore “Thin Spaces” where the gap between heaven and earth feels smaller. Explore a deeper connection with God, others, and yourself through moments in the life of St. Francis. See how these translate into our modern context.
Dates: April 19th – 29th, 2027
Locations: Rome, Sienna, and Assisi, Italy
The Vision
Our goal is to immerse you in the life of St. Francis, gaining an understanding of what a consecrated life looks like in our modern world. Over ten days, we will travel from the bustling streets of Rome to the quiet hills of Sienna and Assisi.
We will stay in monasteries, visit historic churches and museums, and taste the local food, all while facilitating times of reflection, teaching, and guided prayer in these sacred locations.
Led by a Multidisciplinary Team
The tour is led by a team of professionals dedicated to your spiritual and emotional journey:
- Tim and Melissa Sawatsky: Pastors and Counsellors
- Jordan Bell: Counsellor and Spiritual Director

This team will provide a supportive environment, helping you integrate the ancient wisdom of St. Francis into your daily life.
